Together instead of alone.

Many people want to stay in their own home for as long as possible. This is something we support in cooperation with social institutions through the SIGENA project, which stands for “SICHER – GEWOHNT – NACHBARSCHAFTLICH” (safe – familiar – neighbourly). The goal is for residents to live together in the district and to offer each other mutual help.

Our SIGENA NEIGHBOURHOOD MEETING POINTS

  • Take part in events and joint activities
  • Contribute your own ideas and put them into practice with others
  • Provide each other with mutual support
  • Organise leisure time together
  • Cook and eat together or drink coffee together
  • Borrow books or bring them with you – as long as there’s space on the shelf.

You can also use the rooms for your events or private parties by arrangement.

SIGENA flats

SIGENA also includes the SIGENA flats for people with a greater need for assistance. These wbg Nürnberg flats are specially equipped: barrier-free bathrooms, threshold-free access and, in most cases, open and spacious cooking and living areas. Please contact your SIGENA coordinator if you are interested in these flats.

Neighbourhood help and participation

  • SIGENA stands for a neighbourhood where neighbours are there for each other, support each other and celebrate together. Would you like to volunteer and get involved with others or your neighbourhood? Then simply contact the respective SIGENA coordinators. Together we’ll find ways for you to get involved.
  • Students and pupils can also help shape the SIGENA neighbourhood meeting through various internships. You can find more information here.
  • Our SIGENA neighbourhood meeting points are located in the adjacent districts. Just drop by to the location nearest you!
  • Networking in the district is also possible thanks to the many institutions we cooperate with. So we can achieve more together!
