This is an energy modernisation of the existing buildings. In addition, seven new flats will be created by adding another storey.
The existing buildings with six 2-room flats, twelve 3-room flats and six 4-room flats will be modernised in terms of energy efficiency (reduction of energy consumption) and the entire technical building services installation (technical building equipment such as building heating or ventilation) including the bathrooms will be renewed. Instead of the existing top floor, a new, additional residential floor with one 4-room, two 3-room and four 2-room flats will be created. The apartment blocks will therefore have 31 privately financed flats on four floors.
The apartment blocks are located in the area of the ensemble-protected Parkwohnanlage West (PWA). They are part of the overall neighbourhood concept, consisting of conversion with an extension, modernisation with an extension, basic modernisation and new construction.
The buildings fulfil the EnEV standard. This standard sets out clear guidelines for the thermal insulation of houses. This includes, for example, façade insulation or the use of renewable energies.
