Questions and answers about subsidised flats

Publicly subsidised flats are flats constructed with public funds. This is why they are more affordable than normal (freely financed) flats.

Publicly subsidised flats are allocated to people who have no income and receive social benefits (e.g. unemployment benefit II (“Arbeitslosengeld II”)) or have a low income. Often pensioners and trainees are also entitled to a publicly subsidised flat. You can find out whether you are entitled to a publicly subsidised flat from the Housing Office of the City of Nuremberg.

Generally, various factors must be taken into account when calculating the income limit. Use the certificate of eligibility calculator for this purpose. It is generally possible to obtain a subsidised flat if certain income limits are not exceeded. You can find the income limits here.
