The bodies of the wbg 2000 Foundation have approved € 26,500 for a total of nine very different institutions and organisations. The donation cheques are handed over by Frank Thyroff, Chairman of the Board of the wbg 2000 Foundation.
10,000 euros will go to Kinderhaus Nürnberg gGmbH for the construction of a multifunctional playground with a hard court at the Neulichtenhof nature playground. Stefan Dürr, deputy managing director of Kinderhaus Nürnberg gGmbH, accepts the cheque.
The parents' initiative Bauspielplatz Langwasser U e. V. receives 3,000 euros for its sustainability project in the context of the 50th anniversary of the oldest pedagogically supervised playground in Nuremberg-Langwasser. Topics such as sustainability and renewable energies are to be presented and made tangible for children. Thomas Wagner, Deputy Chairman of the Parents' Initiative Bauspielplatz Langwasser U e.V., is pleased to receive the cheque.
The artists' group Der KREIS e. V. will receive 3,000 euros for their exhibition project "Kharkiv School of Photography". The group exhibition will show a photographic style from the Ukraine that is characterised by irony and a critical view of reality. Thomas May, chairman of the artists' group Der KREIS e.V., is pleased about the grant.
The 38th German Protestant Church Congress Nuremberg 2023 e. V. will be supported with 2,000 euros for the implementation of the regional cultural project "Creation-Koyaanisqatsi", based on the film rental fee. The interdisciplinary project highlights human responsibility in the climate-change affected present. Accepting the donation cheque are Philipp Sommerlath, Landeskirchlicher Beauftragter Evang.-Luth. Kirche in Bayern, and Clara-Marie Jantos, coordinator of the regional cultural programme.
The Fränkisches Bildungswerk für Friedensarbeit e. V. (Franconian Educational Association for Peace Work) will receive 2,000 euros for the "W.I.R. - KiTa" project. The focus is on promoting the resilience of children, parents and educators, which is becoming increasingly important in the wake of current crises. Sibylle Weiler, project manager, and Nina Siebert, project coordinator, accept the cheque.
The "4-part event series Ideensprints" of Relevanzreporter gUG is funded with 2,000 euros. With this project, the Relevanzreporters use community-based journalism to ensure more honesty, transparency, closeness and direct involvement of people in order to strengthen trust in local journalism.
The youth dance ensemble Tanzerei-Verein e. V. receives a grant of 1 500 euros for the project "Aufbruch". With the dance theatre piece, the dancers aged 13 to 21 point out topics that move young people and create an evening-length piece. Lina Wagner, director of the youth dance ensemble Tanzerei-Verein e. V., accepts the donation cheque.
1,500 euros will go to DEGRIN e. V. for the equipment of the GOSTINI DEGRIN children's nursery and the DEGRIN-Schülertreff as extracurricular support for children and young people. David Dank, Managing Director of Degrin e. V., and Max Preiß, educator, are delighted about the grant.
The "Exhibition and Book Project, Trottellumme and Wüstensteinschmätzer" by the Institut für moderne Kunst e. V. is supported with 1,500 euros. The interdisciplinary art project draws attention to the diversity of bird species and addresses the issue of species extinction. Manfred Rothenberger, Director of the Institute of Modern Art Nuremberg, accepts the donation cheque.
"With today's distribution, we have once again supported a whole series of sensible and good projects for the benefit of Nuremberg's urban society. Some have already been realised, others are still in the pipeline, but all deserve funding. We are pleased that we, the wbg 2000 Foundation, have been able to help in many places," said Frank Thyroff on the occasion of the presentation of the grants.
