€32,000 go to eight different institutions

The bodies of the wbg 2000 Foundation have approved a sum of €32,000 for a total of eight very different institutions and organisations. The donation cheques are handed over by Frank Thyroff, Chairman of the Board of the wbg 2000 Foundation.

A total of €10,000 will go to the food bank Nürnberger Tafel, which will use the money to decorate its new premises on Sigmundstraße and to purchase suitable equipment and furnishings. Especially in these times, the Nuremberg Tafel is more important than ever for the people. The head of the food bank, Edeltraud Rager, and her representative Johannes Stieg were pleased with the donation.

The Protestant Association for Community Diakonia is to receive a grant of €5,000 for the project “Vesperkirche in the Gustav Adolf Memorial Church”. Similar to the food bank, this will support the financially weak as its target group. Pastor Matthias Halbig is happy about the grant.

The Bezirksjugendring Mittelfranken will receive €4,500 for the project “Young and different – Diversity-conscious youth work in Middle Franconia”. The aim is to teach children and adolescents about diversity and plurality through art workshops. Board member Theresa Lang was present during the presentation of the grant.

The Verein zur Förderung innovativer Kulturarbeit e. V. (Association for the Promotion of Innovative Cultural Work) will receive a grant of €4,000 for the project “Pandorama – A children’s art installation with ways out”. The project aims to use artistic means to help children and adolescents overcome their fear, loneliness and feelings of being lost after a long pandemic. Gottfried Rimmele, Chairman of the association, accepted the grant.

The association AURA Nürnberg e. V. will receive a grant of €3,000 for the extension of its premises, the creation of protected counselling rooms and the enlargement of its office. Board members Saskia Rohrbach and Liesl Weiß took part.

Hilfe daheim – Krankenpflege St. Willibald e.V. (Help at Home – St. Willibald Nursing Service) will receive €2,000 for the purchase of new bicycles to replace previously used ones. The bicycles allow the nursing employees to travel around the catchment area, going easy on the environment as well as saving time, since there is no need to search for a parking space. Managing Director Clemens Preiß and Head of Housekeeping Petra Wurzinger are happy about the new bikes.

The theatre group Theaterlabor Nürnberg – Thevo e. V. will receive a grant of €2,000. These funds will be used to support the intercultural project “We are there – visible!”. This is a cross-border performance for and with people both with and without refugee experience. Project leader and actor Irfan Taufik is pleased about the money.

The citizens’ group Bürgerverein Langwasser e. V. has applied for funding for the project “Signposting of the Langwasser South Cultural Trail”. It will receive a grant of €1,500. The Deputy Chairman of the citizens’ group, Gerhard Berr, is happy about this support.

“With today’s payout, we have once again supported an entire series of sensible, good projects for the benefit of Nuremberg’s urban society. Some have already been realised, others are yet to come, but all deserve financial support. Some only exist because Covid-19 made the actions necessary. This is how we at the wbg 2000 Foundation respond time and time again to current events”, explains Frank Thyroff on the occasion of presenting the grants.

Applications for support can be sent to wbg 2000 Stiftung Frau Pfister Glogauer Straße 70 90473 Nuremberg. Information and application forms are available online at www.wbg2000stiftung.de
