The donation is intended for the foundation of a new “Bläserklasse” (wind class) and the purchase of the necessary instruments. Up to now, these have been rented, but now they will be purchased for the first time. Purchasing the instruments has the advantage that there are no monthly costs in the form of rental fees that have to be paid by the students in the wind class. This means that young people whose parents are not particularly well off can also take advantage of the offer. Participation in the wind class covers the 5th and 6th grades on a voluntary basis, and everyone can learn the wind instrument of their choice.
“With this donation, we’re once again supporting children and young people in line with our own funding priorities. This especially benefits those who would otherwise not be able to participate in the programme for economic reasons. The opportunity to take part in this offer is very important to us,” explains the wbg authorised signatory Frank Jedzik as a member of the foundation board on the occasion of handing over the grant during the spring concert of the Johann-Pachelbel-Realschule secondary school.
