In the next few weeks, wbg Nürnberg GmbH Immobilienunternehmen will demolish the garage facility at Oedenberger Straße 85–87. The property was put into operation in April 1969. Today, it no longer meets fire protection requirements and would also require renovation. Since this cannot be achieved for economic reasons, the preparatory work for the demolition has already begun.
Until the vacant property is developed, about 20 ground-level interim parking spaces will be created. These are expected to be available for lease from October 2023.
“We are currently in serious talks with our immediate neighbours, the St. Theresien-Krankenhaus and the Kongregation der Schwestern vom Göttlichen Erlöser, and can very well imagine a joint development of the district at this location. We will also keep stationary traffic and the question of parking spaces in mind in any future projects”, explains wbg Managing Director Ralf Schekira on the occasion of the start of the demolition.
