Buch has a new place to discover and let off steam: On 14 May, the city of Nuremberg and WBG KOMMUNAL GmbH officially opened the playground on Georg-Ziegler-Weg. The facility is located directly behind the recently inaugurated fire station and is designed as an adventure and meeting place. It is accessible to all children, young people and families. Great importance was attached to inclusion during construction, so that equal participation of people with and without disabilities is possible. With a total area of around 1,460 m², the playground offers a variety of exciting play opportunities that cater to the needs of children aged three to twelve. The total costs amount to €670,000. ‘It was very important for us to select the play equipment in close cooperation with the youth welfare office and in particular through the participation process with the local children,’ explained department head Sabine Stahl from WBG KOMMUNAL at the opening. Highlights include a ropeway, a rope swing, a hill track for scooters and inline skates, a climbing tower with a slide, a climbing forest, a sand and mud area with a water pump and an area with fruit trees and fruit bushes.

Benches arranged in the centre invite you to linger and give adults a good view of their playing children.
‘We are proud that the quality standards set by the city have been fully met.The wbg has created a great meeting place for the city and its families and perhaps we can also playfully generate a potential new generation for the new neighbours of the playground, the fire brigade,’ said Mayor Christian Vogel.
