Around €25,400 go to six different institutions

The bodies of the wbg 2000 Foundation have approved a sum of €25,400 for a total of six very different institutions and organisations. The donation cheques are handed over by Frank Thyroff, Chairman of the Board of the wbg 2000 Foundation.

The Tornados Franken e. V. association receives €10,000 for its physical exercise project as part of its basketball activities. The association is using the money to start at the Gretel-Bergmann-Schule and the Bertolt-Brecht-Schule. The money was used to purchase a 3x3 court. The aim is to get as many children “moving” as possible. CFO Thomas Feneberg is pleased about the donation.

Werkbund Werkstatt Nürnberg received a grant of €5,000 for the relaunch of its website. This is a private educational institution in the craft and design sector and offers a year-long workshop year as a pre-placement for professional and personal orientation. Werkbund Managing Director Norbert Zlöbl accepts the grant.

The Katholische Junge Gemeinde St. Marien Katzwang (Community of Young Catholics of St. Marien Katzwang) will receive €4,500 for the purchase of new tents. These are needed for the annual tent camp of the youth association. Unfortunately, no representative was present at the handover.

The Maximilian Kolbe scout group is receiving a grant of €3,000. It will also be used to purchase tents for the annual youth camp. Johanna Vogel, a group leader, will accept the grant.

Wolfsherz gUG will receive a grant of €2,000 for the theatrical research work on the topic of sexism.  This will be used to research the topic in the context of a play. Managing Director Silke Würzberger took part.

The Institut für Soziale und Kulturelle Arbeit gGmbH, Zentrum Aktiver Bürger (Institute for Social and Cultural Work, Centre for Active Citizens) had applied for and been granted a grant of €5,000 for the project “Competence Centre Education and Civic Engagement”. In the end, however, only €897.89 was needed and claimed. The grant was accepted by Korbinian Frey, who plays a leading role in the project.

“With today’s payout, we have once again supported an entire series of sensible, good projects for the benefit of Nuremberg’s urban society. Some have already been realised, others are yet to come, but all deserve financial support. We are pleased that we, the wbg 2000 Foundation, have been able to help in so many places,” explains Frank Thyroff on the occasion of presenting the grants.
