Shortly before the summer holidays, the students and teaching staff of the Martin-Behaim-Gymnasium grammar school, including the Globus, moved into the premises of the old Bertolt-Brecht-Schule. This was upgraded by WBG KOMMUNAL GmbH on behalf of the City of Nuremberg to form a temporary accommodation.
The demolition of the Martin-Behaim-Gymnasium grammar school will begin shortly. The preparatory work for this is currently underway. This also required cutting down a total of seven trees, for which suitable replacement plantings will be made on the site once all the work has been completed.
A new, modern Martin-Behaim-Gymnasium grammar school will be built on the vacated property. In addition to a school building, the measure will also provide seven sports halls and a cafeteria, which will be shared with the Neues Gymnasium Nürnberg school in the future. The buildings are being constructed in a particularly sustainable manner using a timber structure and recycled concrete. The demolition waste will be used as an additive for the concrete.
WBG KOMMUNAL asks neighbours and road users for their understanding for any disruptions they might experience during construction.
