Playground closed at the Ludwig-Uhland-Schule in Nuremberg

Due to the preparatory work for the new building of the Ludwig-Uhland-Grundschule primary school at Uhlandstraße 33, 90408 Nuremberg, which is being carried out by WBG KOMMUNAL GmbH on behalf of the City of Nuremberg, the playground is closed until further notice. The site is currently being cleared for construction, playground equipment is being dismantled, and investigations of an archaeological site are underway.

The preliminary measures are already being initiated during the summer holidays in order to disrupt school activities as little as possible. On the 6,425 m2 total area of the schoolyard/playground, including green spaces, both existing and new play facilities will be integrated. The existing railway car and the concrete mosaic sculpture in the shape of a kite will be retained and find a new home on the site. A new fenced-in all-weather pitch for sports activities is planned.

The shared schoolyard will allow synergies to be maintained with the secondary school, which will remain in the existing building. The structural work for the new primary school, which will be specially designed to meet the needs of years 1 to 4, is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2022 on part of the premises of the Ludwig-Uhland-Schule.
