SchönLebenPark playground opened

In the continuation of the development of the SchönLebenPark district (Neighbourhood T), a new playground was created by the Property Development and Urban Development division of wbg Nürnberg GmbH Immobilienunternehmen.

Children and adolescents, who were invited to participate in the design, expressed a wish for as many climbing possibilities and adventurous playground equipment as possible. This wish was gladly fulfilled in coordination with Servicebetrieb Öffentlicher Raum (Public Space Service Provider, SÖR) of the City of Nuremberg.

The plans for the 2,200 m² playground were drawn up by Nuremberg landscape designers Riede Landschaftsarchitektur. Wood as a natural building material plays a dominant role in the design of the playground furnishings and the facility as a whole. The wbg Property Development division invested roughly €360,000 in the playground. Mayor Christian Vogel, Senior Facility Manager of Servicebetrieb Öffentlicher Raum Nürnberg (SÖR), wbg Managing Director Ralf Schekira and wbg Division Manager Kristian Lutz-Heinze, handed over the playground to the children from the neighbourhood in time for the Easter holidays.

Mayor Christian Vogel emphasised the quality of this playground: “I am delighted to be able to hand over this high-quality facility to the children and youths of the district today. A small oasis for children has been created between the new and existing buildings of the SchönLebenPark district, one that offers a suitable playing area for all age groups.” This level of quality has its price. This playground costs around €360,000.

“Our aim is to create opportunities for leisure activities to complement the building development. The playground’s design not only enriches the options for children in our new development area, but will also bring joy to all the children in the surrounding residential buildings. That is why I am pleased that the time of waiting is over and the playground is now available to the children” states Ralf Schekira, Managing Director of wbg Nürnberg GmbH on the occasion of the opening of the playground.
