This year, wbg Nürnberg once again honored long-time tenants for their exceptional loyalty. A total of 69 tenant households were recognized for having lived with wbg continuously for 50, 60, 65, or even 70 years.
Thirty of the honorees attended the celebration in person at the Sophiensaal in the Lorenzer Pfarrhof. In this special setting, they had the opportunity to look back on many decades together, share memories, and engage in conversation with one another. Piano music accompanied the event and, together with the festive atmosphere, provided a fitting backdrop.
Ralf Schekira, Managing Director of wbg Nuremberg, welcomed the guests of honor and thanked them for their long-standing loyalty: “When people live with wbg for decades, that is anything but a given. For us, this loyalty is a great sign of trust and, at the same time, a special obligation. Behind each of these tenancies are personal stories, memories, and a home that has been a part of people’s lives for a lifetime. That is why it is important to us to thank them personally and honor them.”
As part of the celebration, wbg not only extended heartfelt congratulations but also presented the honorees with a bouquet of flowers and a certificate. Those celebrating 60 or more years of loyalty also received a rent subsidy.
A total of 34 tenants were honored for 50 years, 17 for 60 years, and 14 for 65 years. A special highlight of this year’s ceremony: Four tenants have been loyal to wbg for 70 years, meaning their tenancies date back to 1956.
